To experience the yearly cycle of Jewish festivals and commemorative days through the eyes of the Lubavitcher Rebbe is to be drawn into a most beautiful and exalted world - a world in which the significance of these days gains inestimable import and consequence.
Embarking on an exploration of the "Chassidic Dimension" of each holiday, as interpreted and expounded by the Rebbe, guarantees the reader new spirit and vitality in understanding and experiencing the annual Jewish lifecycle of festivals and commemorative days.
The present two-volume set of The Chassidic Dimension is composed of 135 essays, culled from the Rebbe's magnum opus - the 39-volume work of Likkutei Sichos. The first volume covers the months of Tishrei through Adar, while the soon-to-be published second volume covers the months of Nissan through Elul.
The essays transmit, albeit in abbreviated form, the Rebbe's novel insights and radiant gems of wisdom regarding these prominent days in the Jewish calendar. Having had a taste of the Rebbe's insights, the reader is encouraged to study the sichos kedoshos as they appear in Likkutei Sichos proper - at much greater length and with far greater profundity.
Through studying the Rebbe's Torah, we strengthen our connection and bond to him; it also serves as a further step in hastening the imminent Redemption through Mashiach Tzidkeinu. Then, we will once again merit having the Rebbe offer us wonders from his Torah: "a 'new' Torah shall come forth from Me."
