No. 296
This letter was addressed to R. David Bravman, a chassid who was charged with overseeing the publication of texts of Chassidus in Germany after WWII.B"H, 5 Tishrei, 5708Greetings and blessings,
In continuation of my letter of Chai Elul and those previous:[218]
With blessings for a chasimah and a gmar chasimah tovah for yourself, for the members of your household, and for all the members of our fellowship,
- We received via R. Benyamin Gorodetzky, one copy of each of Torah Or,[219] Ateres Rosh, and the complete Siddur Tehillat Hashem. By mail, 25 Siddurim arrived. I showed them to my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita -- (needless to say, mentioning your name). He took satisfaction.
- [220] Please send 200 of these Siddurim to the committee [supervising] our branches in Paris. Send 1000 here. Their price should be established at between 60-75 cents. Send them also 50 copies of Torah Or and Ateres Rosh.
- Enclosed are three maamarim of Chassidus. They [are intended] to be circulated among people at large. Please notify us of your receipt of them and of the greetings sent with R. Nissan Nemanov.[221]
M. SchneersonNotes:
- (Back to text) [See Letter 279.]
- (Back to text) [Torah Or was not printed until the summer of 5708. Perhaps the intent is the Tanya which was printed at that time.]
- (Back to text) [The letter contains another section including matters that were not made public.]
- (Back to text) [The Rebbe also sent funds to pay for the printing through R. Nissan.]
