The name of the person to whom this letter was sent was not released.B"H, 13 Nissan, 5708Greetings and blessings,
Your letters from the Sunday of Parshas Tetzaveh and from 2 Nissan and their enclosures were received at the appropriate time. Since they did not contain pressing matters and I am weighed down with many consuming issues, I did not respond to you until now. I ask your forgiveness.
a) Enclosed is the kuntreis for Pesach that was just published. Without a doubt, you will allow others to gain merit by making it available to them. We also sent the study schedule [for Tanya] and the kuntreisim published for Purim and 2 Nissan to you by surface mail.
...I had asked if you participate in the work of Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch. You replied that you are not capable of collecting funds. [With that answer, you have] ignored the fundamental matter and focused on the most secondary. The fundamental task of Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch is to broaden the sphere of kosher [Jewish] education and supplant the non-acceptable [approach to] education through [providing] kosher teachers and texts for study and reading [based] on a foundation of purity and holiness, to instill the fear of G-d into the parents and teachers through study in general and the study of Chassidus in particular.
At present, it is possible to penetrate circles [previously inaccessible]. There was never as appropriate a time to speak to them and for them to desire to listen. It is only that because of the Sin of the Tree of Knowledge and the like there are obstacles, and it appears that there is not enough money even for the initial efforts. This requires involvement to find resources and to show that there are no obstacles in the world at large (as has been shown by experience and is clear). After [hearing] all this, is there any place for your reply?
To conclude with blessings for a kosher and happy Pesach holiday and with the hope of hearing good news from you in the future.
