This letter was addressed to R. David Bravman, a chassid who was charged with overseeing the publication of texts of Chassidus in Germany after WWII.

Greetings and blessings,

Your letter of 29 Nissan was received. Enclosed is the [latest issue of] Likkutei Dibburim for the coming Lag BaOmer [holiday]. Surely you will share it with people at large in the appropriate manner, as explained in sec. 2 of that sichah and in several sources.

This concept[346] can be associated with Lag BaOmer in particular, based on our Sages’ statement (Yevamos 62b) [that the reason Rabbi Akiva’s students died] is that they did not show honor to one another during the days of the Counting of the Omer. This was not the case on Lag BaOmer when they ceased [dying].

With wishes for everlasting good in all matters and with blessings for the “small Pesach,” i.e., at least a small leap[347] at the present time. Awaiting your letters,

347. (Back to text) [The fourteenth of Iyar is Pesach Sheni, referred to as “the small Pesach.” It was instituted to allow those who had not brought a Pesach offering at the appropriate time in Nissan to bring one a month later, in the month of Iyar.

     The spiritual service associated with Pesach is alluded to in its name which also means “leap,” i.e., one makes a radical leap forward in his Divine service. The “small Pesach” thus refers to a smaller leap, but nevertheless a leap.]
