This letter was addressed to R. Isser Kluvgant, one of the Rebbe’s relatives.B"H, 4 Tammuz, 5709Greetings and blessings,
I do not know the exact date of your successful arrival at your new dwelling place,[441] [but] any time is an appropriate time for blessings. I offer my blessings that you settle in peacefully and honorably, for your benefit in both material and spiritual matters. May we hear only good tidings from you, always, at all times.
You are no doubt aware of the sichah[442] delivered by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, interpreting [the expression]:[443] “We place upon him the stringencies (chumrei) [observed] in the place to which he journeyed” as [implying] that the person must refine the material substance (chumrios) of the place to which he journeys.
Please convey my blessings for settling down in a positive manner and also greetings to your brother-in-law, Rabbi Shmuel Betzalel [Althaus], and to the members of his household.
With wishes for everlasting good in all matters and with greetings,
Rabbi Menachem SchneersonNotes:
