This letter was sent to the directorate of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim and that of the yeshivah for Russian immigrants to Eretz Yisrael.B"H, 1 Sivan, 5710Greetings and blessings,
I thankfully acknowledge receipt of your letter from 16 Iyar together with the list of the students. It was with great pleasure that I read the detailed account of the expansion of your work.
It is very desirable to perform concrete activities for the benefit of the proper Jewish education of the youth from Yemen. Certainly, you will do more to strengthen and reinforce [these efforts] as is appropriate to the frequently-repeated request of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m: "Tomorrow must be different."
Certainly, you are trying as much as possible to expand the circle of supporters for your material and spiritual activities. It is clear that to the extent that each individual will increase his commitment to be one of those who seeks to purify[507] (this includes purifying others, as implied by the maamar entitled Havayah Li BeOzri, sec. 5, in Likkutei Torah), he will be a more fit medium for the fulfillment of the promise "he will be granted assistance."507
I requested that R. Chayim Mordechai Isaac Chodakov write you with several suggestions regarding a program of study. His letter will undoubtedly reach you in the next few days.
With wishes for all types of good and for receiving the Torah with joy and with inner feeling,
M. SchneersonNotes:
