This letter was addressed to R. Yehudah Aryeh Leib HaLevi Heber.B"H, 11 Menachem Av, 5710Greetings and blessings,
In response to your letter of 5 Menachem:[685]
I will repeat in writing the blessing I conveyed verbally to your son and your relative who is engaged to marry your daughter when they visited me: May the date for the wedding be established in a good and auspicious hour in all details. May they build a house in Israel, an everlasting structure on the foundations of the Torah, the mitzvos, and Chassidus amidst prosperity in material and spiritual matters.
Our Sages' statement (Megillah 16a): "This nation, when they ascend, they ascend to the stars," is well known. May it be G-d's will that since you have begun ascending by reaching the engagement and establishing the date of the wedding of your daughter, you continue to ascend in all of your other matters. It is [merely] necessary to remain strong in your trust and faith that certainly the blessings which my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m, granted you on several occasions will be fulfilled, and indeed, fulfilled in a complete manner, in an actual physical manner.
It would be proper that, without committing yourself to a vow, every day, you recite the Rebbe's kapitle in Tehillim, which at present is kapitle 71.[686] Several times during the week you should study the Chassidus of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m. All of this should continue at least until the coming Yud Shvat (5711). This will serve as a broad medium to draw down the blessings of the tzaddik, my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m, into this world, the world of deed.
Awaiting good tidings from you with regard to all the above,
Menachem SchneersonNotes:
