B"H, 27 Menachem Av, 5710

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter from the Friday preceding Shabbos Nachamu. I extol G-d for the report that your health has improved. It will surely continue to improve, for, as is true regarding all matters associated with holiness, one must continually strive to improve and advance higher. The health of a Jew's body is also a matter of holiness. As my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m, said several times in the name of his father, the Rebbe (Rashab): "How precious is (a body)! Because of it, so much Torah and mitzvos were given."[781]

This [continual improvement] must also be manifest in the health of a Jew so that [difficulties in this area] will not, Heaven forbid, disturb him from [his involvement in] the Torah and its mitzvos.

I would also like to give you separate thanks for the information concerning the [schedule of] fixed times for the study of Chassidus and the farbrengens, and also for the information regarding the [curriculum of] studies in Beis Sarah and Beis Rivkah. It is most desirable that the students [from these schools] who travel to America have the address of Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch. We must also see to it that the girls who travel to other countries maintain their connection [to Lubavitch] through receiving the necessary reinforcement and support in their path in their new circumstances.

As you requested, I will read the pan at the gravesite of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m. May it be G-d's will that her journey will be in an appropriate time and find favor and success.

Signing with blessing and greetings to all the members of our fellowship,

Menachem Schneerson
