After Ma'ariv, the Rebbe Shlita announced: "In connection with the yahrzeit, the institutions which submit requests will receive assistance from Keren Chomesh (the charitable fund established in memory of the Rebbetzin Æ"É)."
Before beginning the distribution of dollars to be given to tzedakah, the Rebbe added: "My intent is institutions which are worthy of being called institutions."
In the midst of the distribution of the dollars, the Rebbe instructed Rabbi Leibel Groner to announce the name of one of the directors of Keren Chomesh (Rabbi Yehudah Krinsky) and the address to which the requests should be submitted. Also, he added that all requests should be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the Rabbis of one's local community or from the Rebbe's secretariat.
